Because What you do matters!
Improving patient outcomes through an interdisciplinary approach to mechanical ventilation training
-
Basic Ventilator Life Support (BVLS)™️
BVLS™️ is designed to ensure clinicians feel confident when caring for patients on a mechanical ventilator and establishes a foundation of knowledge necessary for understanding more advanced concepts of mechanical ventilation.
-
Advanced Ventilator Life Support (AVLS)™️
AVLS™️ is an Advanced Course designed for the experienced healthcare professional and expands on the concepts presented in BVLS™️, challenging clinicians to critically think and take their knowledge of mechanical ventilation to the next level.
-
Pediatric Ventilator Life Support (PVLS)™️
PVLS™️ is specifically designed to take the clinician’s skills in mechanical ventilation to the next level. Teaching essential concepts necessary for caring for the pediatric patient, this course expands on the concepts previously taught in our Basic and Advanced courses.
-
Neonatal Ventilator Life Support (NVLS)™️
NVLS™️ is a specialized course that builds on the concepts presented in BVLS and AVLS. This course teaches the critical skills necessary when caring for our most vulnerable patients.

Benefits of mechanical ventilation
consistent ventilatory support
Precise control over oxygen delivery, respiratory rate, tidal volume, PEEP, and more.
Improved Patient Safety
Continuous monitoring ensures immediate response to potential problems, enhancing patient safety.
Better Resource Utilization
Optimize available staff, allowing them to focus on other crucial tasks that lead to positive outcomes.
Reduced ICU Days / Better Outcomes
Appropriate mechanical ventilation accelerates patient recovery, reduces ICU days, and frees up beds sooner.
Reduced Healthcare Costs
Better mechanical ventilation care reduces ventilator associate injuries and ICU days.
The sooner patients receive appropriate mechanical ventilation, the better their outcomes.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The short answer is no, however, don't think of BVLS as basic. Consider it more like the Fundamentals of Mechanical Ventilation. We're confident that, regardless of your experience, you'll learn something that will help make you a better caregiver. But don't just take our word for it. This course has been reviewed by numerous experienced flight paramedics, critical care nurses, and nurse anesthetists with years of experience, and every one of the told us how valuable this course was for them. Check out their reviews above. Still not sure? Why not take the FREE AVLS Pretest to get a taste of what's covered in BVLS.

AVLS is approved for 8 hours of continuing education hours.
BVLS is approved for 4 hours of continuing education hours.
-
All of our certifications are good for 2 years.
You may be asking, "Why 2 years?"
It is because the science of mechanical ventilation is rapidly evolving and we want to make sure all clinicians are kept up-to-date on the latest science.
-
All of our courses are reviewed on an ongoing basis and updated every 2 years, or sooner if needed.
-
Yes, each section ends with a short quiz and rationale to ensure comprehensive and reinforce key concepts from the lesson.
At the end of the course, students are required to pass a comprehensive exam on what they've learned in order to receive their certificate.
-
Yes.
We believe students learn as much from their mistakes and failures as they do from their successes, probably more.
We also believe that the goal of any quality education program is to help students be successful.
For those reasons, students are allowed to take the final exam as many times as necessary in order to pass. However, we encourage students who struggle with the material to go back and review the relevant lessons, or to reach out to one of our educators for help before attempting the exam a second time.
Remember, the goal is not to pass the exam but to learn how to take better care of your patients.
